Halal Ecosystem Research Journal (HERJ) aims to promote scientific publication on halal-related topics, practices, and industries in its broadest sense covering textual, historical and empirical aspects, both classical/medieval, modern and contemporary periods in the Halal World and beyond. This journal encompasses original research articles based on library and/or empirical research in the field of Halal studies especially on, but not limited to, eight main topics: (1) Halal Food and Products (2) Halal Law (3) Halal Medicine (4) Halal Tourism (5) Halal Technology (6) Halal Education (7) Halal Lifestyle and (8) Halal Management. It encourages articles that employ a multi-disciplinary approach to those topics. Scholars from any countries and regions that are concerned with Halal and its manifestation throughout Muslim history and geography in the Halal World and beyond can submit their article to Halal Ecosystem Research Journal (HERJ) and use this open access journal.

This journal is published biannually in January and July. The HER journal commits to publishing the issues on time and is available in the online version.
