Focus and Scope

Nak-Kanak: Journal of Child Research is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to publishing high-quality scholarship on early childhood development, care, and wellbeing. The journal places particular emphasis on research emerging from Global South contexts and culturally diverse educational settings, promoting interdisciplinary perspectives that connect theory, research, and practice in early childhood studies.

The journal provides a platform for studies examining early childhood education within culturally responsive, community-based, and low-resource educational environments, highlighting how local knowledge systems, family practices, and community institutions shape children's learning, development, and wellbeing.

Nak-Kanak: Journal of Child Research publishes original empirical research, theoretical papers, systematic literature reviews, and case studies addressing contemporary issues in early childhood education and child development.
