UJI KARAKTERISASI TARIK DAN TERMAL PLASTIK HDPE DENGAN FILLER ABU LAYANG DAN SILANE
Abstract
Modifikasi plastik HDPE dengan zat aditif telah berkembang pesat. Berdasarkan sifatnya, HDPE mempunyai ketahanan tehadap temperatur yang lebih tinggi. Modifikasi sifat High Density Poliethylene (HDPE) sebagai pengemas herbisida dilakukan dengan menambahkan zat aditif abu layang kelas C dan silane sebagai coupling agent dengan mixer Laboplastomil. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkarakterisasi film HDPE menggunakan aditif abu layang kelas C. Hasil yang diharapkan dari penelitian adalah didapatkannya film yang tahan terhadap degradasi termal. Pembuatan film plastik HDPE menggunakan filler dengan variasi kadar filler 0%, 5%, 10%, 15% dan 20%. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa penambahan filler 5% bisa meningkatkan sifat film HDPE. Film plastik HDPE hasil sintesis ini didegradasi kimia dengan menggunakan xylene dan piridin dengan varisi konsentrasi piridin yaitu 1%, 3% dan 5% serta degradasi termal pada suhu 100ºC selama 2 minggu. Karakterisasi yang dilakukan pada film HDPE menggunakan uji tarik dan analisa termal (TGA/DTA).
