Author Guidelines

Jurnal Kelautan, Indonesian Journal of Marine Science and Technology, is the normal channel for publication of papers in field of Marine Science and Technology. Manuscripts reporting experimentation or research (has something innovative and trends that affect the profession) will be accepted for review as papers.


GUIDING PRINCIPLES
An acceptable manuscript will meet the following general criteria : it reports a worthwhile contribution to science, sound methodology was used and is explained with sufficient detail so that other capable scientists could repeat the experiments, conclusions are supported by data, manuscripts is concise, well written, and understandable.

 

POTENTIAL REVIEWER

Author should submit at least 3 Names (Complete Name, Institution, Expertise, Email address) as potential reviewer in the comment to editor section when submitted article.


MANUSCRIPT FORMAT
Manuscript should given in soft copy and arranged in Jurnal Kelautan standard format (Template can be found here), Title, Authors, Address and Email, Abstract, Keywords, lntroduction, Materials and Methods, Result and Discussion, Conclusion and Suggestion, Acknowledgment and References. Typed at one side of white paper of A4 size, in single column, double space, 10 point arial font and should given line numbers.


MANUSCRIPT TITLE
Title, consist of not more than 20 words. It should be written clearly and concisely describing the contents of the research.


AUTHORS
Manuscript has main author and co authors. Full name, institution and email address of the authors must be stated clearly.


ABSTRACT
State the objective is specific and clearly, as to what is to be obtained. Give a brief account of the methods. Identify scientific names of plants, other organisms, and chemicals. State results succinctly. State conclusions or recommendations and link this to the significance of the work. Abstract should not more than 200 characters which has no reference and accompanied keywords. Abstract must be integrated and independent which is consist of introduction and purpose, methods, results, conclusion and suggestion. Abstract should be written in both Indonesian and English language (for article in Indonesian) and English (for article in English).

 

KEYWORDS
The key words should be alphabetically arranged and should reflect the contents of the manuscript. Give not more than five key words.


INTRODUCTION
Presented briefly and clearly information concerning background, aim and purpose of the research.


MATERIALS AND METHODS
It should mention time and place of the research in first part. All materials and methods that used such chemical for analysis, treatment and experimental design must be stated clearly and briefly.


RESULT AND DISCUSSION
Result and discussion be written in same part. They should be presented continuously start from main result until supporting results and equipped with a discussion. Unit of measurement used should follow the prevailing international system.


CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION

Conclusion should be explained clearly. Suggestion placed after conclusion contains a recommendation on the research done or an input that can be used directly by consumer.


ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
State the grant source and the person to whom the grant was given. Name the person to help you work.


REFERENCES
The author-year notation system is required and completed. All reference that mentioned should be written down in reference and arranged from oldest to newest and from Alo Z. Articles have 10 recent references or over and 60% is journal. The most of references are primary ones. We used APA citation style for reference. Authors are suggested to use reference tool such as Mendeley or End Note.

PUBLISHING FEES FOR PAPERS
Publishing cost 600.000,- (IDR).

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. Authors submitting a manuscript do so on the understanding that if accepted for publication, copyright of the article shall be assigned to Jurnal Kelautan, Indonesian Journal of Marine Science and Technology, Department of Marine Science, Trunojoyo University of Madura Indonesia.

    The copyright transfer agreement and publishing ethical statement gives the Publisher the permission of the author(s) to publish the Work, and it empowers the Publisher to protect the Work against unauthorized use and to properly authorize dissemination of the Work by means of printed publications, offprints, reprints,electronic files, licensed photocopies, microform editions, translations, document delivery and secondary information sources such as abstracting, reviewing and indexing services, including converting the Work into machine readable form and storing it in electronic databases. It also gives the author(s) broad rights of fair use.

    The copyright transfer agreement and publishing ethical statement should be filled with respect to article and be signed originally and sent to the Editorial Office in the form of original mail, or scanned document file (softcopy). The form can be downloaded here.

  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is double-spaced; uses a 10-point arial font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
  7. Submit at least 3 Names (Complete Name, Institution, Expertise, Email address) as potential reviewer in the comment for the editor
  8. Add Phone Number (Whatapps Number) of the Corresponding author in the comment for the editor
