Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI-Assisted Technology
Agriekonomika is committed to maintaining the highest integrity, originality, and transparency in every article published. As generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology develops, we set the following policies that must be complied with by all Authors, Editors, and Reviewers.
Authorship & Content Terms
- Authorship Status: Generative AI tools or systems (such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, etc.) are not eligible to be listed as authors or co-authors. AI cannot assume legal, ethical, copyright, or accountability responsibilities for the content of scientific works.
- Content Responsibility: Human authors hold full responsibility for the accuracy of the data, the validity of arguments, the scientific integrity, and the authenticity of the entire content of the submitted manuscript.
- Limitations of Use:
- AI can only be used to improve the readability of a manuscript, such as grammar checks, language style refinement, or text translation.
- AI is strictly prohibited from being used to generate the main substance of a manuscript (writing article content from scratch), perform interpretive data analysis, or make scientific conclusions.
- AI is strictly prohibited from being used to manipulate, modify, or engineer primary data (such as statistical figures, graphs, or images of laboratory results).
Transparency and Disclosure Obligations
If the author uses AI technology or AI tools in the manuscript writing process, such use must be disclosed honestly and transparently when submitting the manuscript.
- The author must include the disclosure statement at the end of the manuscript (before the Bibliography) in the format: "AI Usage Statement: The author uses [AI Tool Name/Model, Version] to [Indicate the purpose of use, e.g.: editing grammar/translating text from Language X to Language Y]. The author is solely responsible for the correctness and authenticity of the content of this text".
- If no AI is used, the author does not need to include such statements.
- The author is obliged to re-verify any references or citations suggested by AI to avoid fictitious references due to the phenomenon of AI hallucinations.
Provisions for Editors and Reviewers
- Manuscript Confidentiality: Reviewers and Editors are strictly prohibited from uploading the manuscript under review, or any part of it, to a public generative AI tool. This is a gross violation of the principles of confidentiality and the author's intellectual property rights.
- Assessment Integrity: The process of editorial evaluation and peer review must be conducted purely by human thought. The use of AI to create critical reviews, assess the feasibility, or write recommendations for final manuscript decisions is not allowed.
Actions Against Violations
Agriekonomika has the right to conduct manuscript checks using AI and plagiarism detection software. If indications of the use of generative AI are found that are not disclosed or AI-based content manipulation that violates this policy, the editorial board has the right to unilaterally reject the manuscript (rejection), cancel publication, or retract the article (retraction) if the article has already been published.
