Abstract


Studi pustaka ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian kualitatif. Ditemukan bahwa tuturan para tokoh utama dalam drama She Stoops to Conquer dengan sengaja mempermainkan maksim tutur untuk  mempertahankan kelangsungan alur cerita, menghibur pembaca, mengajak pembaca untuk memperhatikan kesenjangan antara apa yang diharapkan oleh seorang tokoh cerita dengan apa yang didapatkan, serta untuk mengkritik norma norma pola hidup masyarakat yang berlaku pada zamannya.
